The parking area along Independence Avenue will be closed to the public on Sunday, December 31st.

The City of Windhoek (CoW) stated that the closure is due to the hosting of the New Year's celebration.

The portions of Independence Avenue between Sam Nujoma Drive and Garten Street will be temporarily closed, as will the portion of Sam Nujoma Drive between Independence Avenue and Robert Mugabe Street.

During the closure, road users are urged to use the alternative routes and follow the detour signs.
