The youth of Otavi are excited to be receiving basic computer training from the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology (MICT).

The MICT Otjozondjupa Regional Office is conducting two-week basic computer skills training for the youth of Otavi.

More than 110 youth in Otavi registered to be part of the training, but due to limited ICT resources, only 31 could participate.

The training is an initiative of the Deputy Minister of ICT, Emma Teofilus, which was launched in 2022 and aimed at empowering the youth who had no chance to use computers or access computer classes during their education era.

The training is focused on skill development and technological skill enhancement, which are essential in today's world.

So far, 156 youths from six constituencies have received the Basic Computer Skills Training, and only Omatako Constituency is left, which will be covered in February.
