The capital was abuzz with athletic energy on Saturday afternoon as the 2nd Pupkewitz Foundation Athletics Grand Prix drew a strong contingent of clubs and athletes.

These events served as a crucial qualifying platform for aspiring stars aiming to reach the prestigious All-African Games and Olympic stages.

Over 200 athletes unleashed their talent across diverse field events, including discus, high jump, javelin, long & triple jumps, and shot put. They also pushed their limits in the 100m, 200m, and 4x100m relay sprints.

The competition was blazing with fierce rivalry as clubs and athletes battled for recognition and glory, with their eyes set on securing spots in Namibia's teams for the upcoming All-Africa Games and Olympics.

The Independence Stadium hosted the event that kicked off in the afternoon. Athletes brought intensity and focus as they tackled the challenges, determined to catch the eye of national selectors.

While NBC's efforts to interview participants and organizers were unfortunately unsuccessful, the competition's significance in launching athletes towards their dreams remains clear.
