Four political parties in Zambezi Region have commended the late President Hage Geingob as a leader of note who committed himself to Namibia's prosperity.

Political parties remarked on this at a regional memorial service organised by the regional council.

The National Democratic Party (NDP) representative, Success Musialike, noted that Dr. Geingob set a bar high for all Namibians in upholding high etiquette, values, and morals.

"It was during his tenure that Namibia saw high labour corruption cases finding solutions. Indeed, no one left out a true demonstration of a non-instrumental approach. As Prime Minister, before his Presidency, he played a pivotal role in shaping Namibia's political landscape, fostering stability, and championing socio-economic development. His leadership qualities were evident in the pursuit of policies aimed at uplifting the lives of Namibians and promoting inclusiveness."

The Popular Democratic Movement's (PDM) Regional Coordinator for Zambezi, Geoffrey Mwilima, says late President Geingob was a man of political accume, a stalwart of freedom, a generational thinker, and an architect of the Namibian constitution, which became known as one of the best constitutions in the world.

"Our hearts are truly broken, and it is with suddenness that Dr. Hage has ended his throne. We can see his humble worship at Jesus's feet; sadly, we will miss and remember his warm friendship. As a country, dear mourners, we must all learn from his sense of selflessness, humility, and kindheartedness."

Independent Patriotic for Change (IPC) and the Swapo Party also expressed their condolences and memories of Geingob's stand on transparency.

"Namibia is mourning a great son, an icon of the liberation struggle, the third President of Namibia, and a champion of democracy and transparency. We are shattered by his passing, and we are all hoping that he will come out and recover to continue serving the nation he so dearly loved. Dr. Hage G. Geingob was an exceptional revolutionary, an international civil servant, and above all, a patriotic faithful man who believed in building the Namibian house,"  said IPC's Milunga Lizazi.

Swapo Party's representative, Dorothy Kabula-Simush, says, "Dr. Hage was an immense figure in the Namibian liberation struggle and a man of his words. His countless importance cannot be overemphasised, and his contribution to the Namibian House has been immeasurable. As a region, we shall forever remember him as a unit leader who belted the Namibia house on a solid and strong foundation that shall never be broken."
