The Governors Forum is a collaborative initiative between Namibia and Angola that signals a pivotal step towards enhancing bilateral relations and addressing shared challenges impacting communities along the border.

The gathering of key stakeholders from the border regions of Namibia and Angola is poised to serve as a platform for meaningful dialogue, cooperation, and strategic engagement.

During the Governor's Forum, both countries underscored their commitment to fostering mutual understanding, promoting sustainable development, and strengthening ties that transcend geographical boundaries.

Discussions were held on a range of pertinent issues, from economic cooperation to security concerns, as well as challenges and opportunities shared by communities residing along the Namibia-Angola border.

Seven governors of Omusati, Oshana, Kunene, Ohangwena, Kavango East and West, and Zambezi regions and representatives were in attendance, with a report to be drafted before the 30th of April for the two ministers of international cooperation in Namibia and Angola. 

In Angola, the bordering governors are those of the Cunene and Cuando Cubango. 

Sebastian Ndeitunga has been elected Chairperson, deputised by Erginus Endjala, the governor of the Omusati Region on the Namibian side. 

Both Namibian and Angolan governors are set to meet on a date yet to be announced.
