Namibia's national football team, the Brave Warriors, may be forced to continue playing their home games in South Africa for a while.

This is despite the government allocating funds for the renovation of the Independence Stadium.

The stadium was previously deemed unfit for international matches by CAF, who outlined specific renovations required. However, progress on these improvements appears to have been slow.

In recent years, there has been a growing call for the upgrading and construction of sporting facilities in Namibia.

The Independence Stadium is one of the facilities in need of renovations to meet the CAF and FIFA requirements for hosting international football matches in the country.

The Minister of Finance allocated 124 million Namibia Dollars for the stadium renovations.

Unfortunately, the renovation process will have to wait a little longer. Director of Sport, Jo-Ann Manuel, provided this update but was not willing to disclose the name of the lead agency involved.
