Defending champions African Stars have retained the Debmarine Premiership title after a decisive 2-0 victory over Orlando Pirates in the final match of the season at Independence Stadium on Saturday.

The first half was intense, with both teams displaying impressive skill ,but ultimately ending in a goalless draw.

However, in the second half, African Stars stepped up their game, scoring two stunning goals, including a beautiful free kick by Awilo Stephanus, in front of a roaring crowd.

The defeat, however, relegated Orlando Pirates from the country's top-flight league, marking a tough end to their season.

After the game, NFA Council member Michael Situde, Judge President Dr. Petrus Damaseb, along with NFA Secretary General Charles Siyauya and representatives from Debmarine, presented African Stars with the championship trophy and a cheque for $850,000.

Meanwhile, Life Fighters, Okakarara Young Warriors, and Orlando Pirates are the three teams relegated from the league this season.
