The Namibia Bowling Association is currently hosting the King-Price Annual National Tournament in Windhoek.

The seven-day event is taking place across three venues in the city: Eros Bowling Club, Parliament Garden, and Trans Namibia Bowling.

The NBA's annual tournament brings together bowlers from various clubs across Namibia.

Participants compete in different categories, with age groups ranging from nine years old to senior citizens, while Parliament Garden is hosting bowlers over 50 years old and Trans Namibia is hosting the young men and boys' competition.

Six clubs affiliated with the NBA from various Namibian towns are participating in the Nationals.

Michael Wells Explains the Event

"Bowling started in Namibia in 1938. The Nationals are a highlight, where players from all clubs come together for a week-long competition. Currently, the men and women are playing separately throughout the week. Here at the Eros Bowling Club, the men are competing in various disciplines, while some of the ladies are playing at the Windhoek Parliament Gardens," said Wells.

"I just want to become the best player in the world! I saved my last move (shot) to tie the game, and we ended up winning by one point. My goal is to become a national champion and play for the Eros bowling team internationally," Hayward, a rising star, said.

"We're actively trying to expose this sport to a wider audience and recruit more players. It's a misconception that bowling is only for older people. JR's participation at just nine years old is a great example. We encourage everyone to give bowling a try," Wells added.

The National Bowling Tournament remains a major Namibian sporting event, fostering friendly competition and camaraderie among bowlers of all ages and skill levels.
