The Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Namibia Tourism Board has resigned from the board.

NTB, in a statement, said Janette Fourie, the chairperson, voluntarily resigned from NTB with immediate effect.

Fourie served on the board from 2020 to 2023 as an ordinary director and was appointed chairperson for the current term, 2023 to 2026.

The current Vice Chairperson, Olavi Hamwele, has been appointed as interim chairperson.

NTB thanked Fourie for her contribution to the tourism board, saying she has provided valuable leadership and guidance during her tenure.

Reached for comment, Fourie told NBC News that she has nothing to add to her resignation notification.
