The harbour town of Lüderitz will host this year's Miss Namibia and Miss Teen Beauty pageants.
The announcement was made by nbc Director General Stanely Similo and the Chief Executive Officer of the Lüderitz Waterfront Company, Fluksman Samhuel, in Windhoek.
The event was attended by the reigning Miss Namibia, Jameela |Uiras, and Miss Teen Namibia, Oriana Ribeiro, as well as all 20 of the finalists for Miss Namibia and Miss Teen Namibia.
"We did say that this is a national project, and it's a project that will have to go to all corners of our country. There is no place in Namibia that is more important than the other, because if that thought were in our minds, we would already be applying some sort of discrimination. I am happy to state that in the middle of July, this pageant will be held in Lüderitz."
The CEO of Lüderitz Waterfront, Fluksman Samuehl, expressed gratitude, saying Lüderitz is a great town to host the beauty pageants because of its renowned rich cultural tapestry and warm hospitality.
"Why Lüderitz is important: This is a town that has had three Renaissances. Number one, in 1908, was defined by diamonds. At independence, the town became a very important and flourishing fishing town, so that's the second Renaissance. And the third renaissance awaits Lüderitz; it will be Namibia's energy capital, defined by oil and green hydrogen."
But behind the glamour and glitz lies a network of sponsors whose contributions are instrumental in bringing this event to life.
Miss Namibia CEO thanked the main sponsor, Debmarine, whose continued support underscores its commitment to empowering Namibian women.
Other sponsors are the Namibia Wildlife Resorts (NWR), African Insurance Organisation, Pupkewitz Toyota, Coca-Cola, I am Hair and Beauty, and the Lüderitz Waterfront Corporation.
The countdown, which will culminate in the crowning moment that will captivate the nation and showcase the best of Namibia to the world, has begun.
