The Women's National Cricket Team, the U19 Capricorn Eagles, started the T20 Series on the wrong foot as they lost their first two opening games against visiting Zimbabwe.

In the ongoing six-match T20 Series hosted at the HP Oval, the U19 Capricorn Eagles faced Zimbabwe in their first game played on Monday.

In the first game, Zimbabwe won the toss and elected to bat first, losing their first wicket with 47 runs on the scoreboard after 7 overs.

The visitors set a target of 132 for the U19 Capricorn Eagles, reaching 131/7 by the end of their innings.

In response, the U19 Capricorn Eagles found themselves struggling at 19/4 by the fourth over and continued to lose wickets, resulting in Zimbabwe winning by 96 runs.

In the second match on Tuesday, the U19 Capricorn Eagles won the toss and chose to bowl first. Zimbabwe had a strong start, reaching 52 without loss in 7 overs.

They finished their innings at 146/4, setting a target of 147 for victory.

The U19 Capricorn Eagles faced another challenging start, falling to 23 for 3 in the fifth over. They were eventually bowled out for 43 runs, giving Zimbabwe a 103-run victory and a 2-0 lead in the series.

Francois van der Merwe, Coach of U19 Capricorn Eagles says that the series is a valuable learning experience for the girls.

Estelle van der Merwe the Captain of the team says it's a tough start but expressed optimism.

Traver Garwe, Coach of Zimbabwe U19s, expressed satisfaction with his team's performance so far and emphasized their aim to maintain their winning momentum.

Kelis Ndhlovu, Captain of Zimbabwe, mentioned that their preparation since April has paid off, evident in their results.

The teams played their third match on Wednesday and Namibia lost to Zimbabwe by 42 and will break on Thursday before resuming with match day four on Friday.
