President Nangolo Mbumba has expressed appreciation to the outgoing High Commissioner of India, Mandarapu Subbarayudu, for ably representing his government.

Dr. Mbumba particularly recalled the state funeral service of the late President Hage Geingob, where High Commissioner Subbarayudu addressed the mourners.

"You delivered the message on behalf of the great people of India; we very much appreciate that. It is one of those things where we say, It was an interesting period; it was interesting because it was difficult; it was emotional. We lost a leader who was not only a leader for Namibia but for SADC and for Africa and who had good international standing, and the way it happened was so fast. We need not have expected it because he is a strong person, not just physically but also clear as to what he wants for his country, Africa, and has been able to attract international friends," said Dr. Mbumba.

In response, Subbarayudu said, "Entire India was grieving with the people of Namibia, and we convey once again our sincere condolences. But what was touching was the smooth transition within hours and the way you have provided leadership, and I would like to once again convey congratulations and the advice you have handled during that difficult process in February."
