Sunday afternoon witnessed an intense encounter in the Khomas Second Division league as the top-of the table  Swallows faced off against the Windhoek Correctional Facility.

Despite their sixth-place position and determination to secure a coveted top-four spot, Windhoek Correctional failed to collect the maximum points and could only managed a two all draw.

The game was intense, with both teams awarded penalties in the second half; however, only Windhoek Correctional Facility converted theirs, while Swallows missed their opportunity.

Correctional Facility started the second half guns blazing, managing to equalise from a penalty and taking the lead midway through the half to make the score 2-1.

However, they squandered their lead in the last minute of the game when Swallows winger Ben Beukes equalized with a flick header in the penalty box.

Disappointed by the result, Ben Lukopani stated that the aim for the team this season is to finish in the top four.

The draw ensured that Swallows kept their top spot with 51 points, three points ahead of City Boys in second place.

A relieved head coach, Jacobus Stein, praised his boys for fighting to secure a draw but stated that a lack of concentration and experience almost cost them the game.

In other Sunday results, City Boys drew 1-1 against NUST FC, bottom-of-the-table Impala Chiefs beat Patriots 2-1, and Namib Eagles won 5-2 against Namib Colts.
