Paulus Shipanga, a retired Namibian footballer, has been awarded his CAF B coaching license in KwaZulu Natal, South Africa, which was held from April 29 to July 12, 2024, during three different phases.
Shipanga is one of the most recognizable football figures, having enjoyed a successful playing career at home and abroad as the former head coach of Tura Magic FC, now FC Ongos, and coastal sides Eleven Arrows and Blue Waters.
Shipanaga enjoyed his most success as a coach at Black Africa SC, where he won the 2017/18 Namibia Premier League (NPL) season with Black Africa.
He recently acquired his CAF B coaching license in KwaZulu Natal, South Africa, and was happy enough to share his appreciation.
As a requirement by CAF in terms of club licensing regulations, for the CAF Champions League, Confederation Cup, and COSAFA, a coach needs to hold a CAF B license.
It is thus important for coaches to upgrade themselves by acquiring this coaching license.
In addition, he further gave insights on his next move after being awarded his Confederation of African Football (CAF, B license for his coaching career.
Namibia has so far more than 40 coaches holding a CAF B license in the country. As part of the CAF convention, it will be mandatory to have a CAF B Licence Diploma to coach in the top-tier league.
It will also assist in uniformity in compensation for coaches by having a minimum salary cap.
