The International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) African Youth Games concluded over the weekend in Gaborone, Botswana, bringing an end to intense weeklong action.
The under-15 and under-19 competitions included both boys and girls respectively.

The International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) African Youth Championship saw 118 players from 19 countries assembled at Botho University in Gaborone.
Team Namibia consisted of eight under-15 players, making up a junior women's team and a junior men's team.
The junior women's team had an exceptional run in the tournament but lost 3-0 to Uganda in the quarterfinals, while the junior men's team also experienced the same fate at the hands of Uganda with an identical score of 3-0.
The two teams crashed out of the competition in the quarter-final stage.
Egypt and Tunisia proved to be formidable competitors at the event alongside Madagascar.
Egypt led the medal table, grappling with 23 medals, among them eight gold, seven silver, and eight bronze, while Tunisia finished in 2nd place with ten medals - five gold, four silver, and one bronze.
In third place came the highest-ranked Southern African country in the competition, Madagascar. However, they failed to replicate their ranking status as they only managed three medals.
The ITTF tournament also served as qualifiers for the 2026 ITTF World Youth Championships, which will be co-hosted by Romania and the Kingdom of Bahrain in the Middle East.
