In the fulfilment of its mandate to inform, educate, and entertain, the nbc engaged the community at the Black Chain Shopping Centre in Windhoek's Katutura in its nationwide campaign to encourage young people to register for the November elections.

The campaign was broadcast by all 11 nbc radio stations.

With the registration deadline getting closer, ECN and NBC Radio stations are making concerted efforts to reach out to the youth, who are a crucial demographic in the electoral process.

The Electoral Commission, led by Brumilda Kharaxas emphasised the importance of youth participation in shaping the future of the country.

"We have exactly five days left before the registration ends, therefore, the electoral commission is inviting every Namibian to please register to vote at the end of the year."

nbc's Kaisames FM Eben Rooi encourages everyone to come in numbers for their voice to be heard.

"Get your new voters card to vote by the end of this year and next year for the local government election. For that particular reason, we are here with the ECN Registration activation campaign. We are encouraging everyone to register, come and register, and vote, it's your right to have a registration card."

The campaign ensures that voter registration is accessible and convenient.

The nbc's Tirelo ya Sechaba Radio Media Planner, Joseph Shikongo, echoed his colleague's sentiments.

"We are here at Black Chain just to come and inform our Namibians that they must come register, so come November, they must come and register to vote."

With the registration deadline fast approaching, nbc and ECN are calling on all eligible voters to register without delay.

This initiative underscores the importance of civic engagement and the role that young voters play in the future of Namibia.
