A two-week training of the train-the-trainer series course on renewable energy concluded at UNAM's Jose Eduardo dos Santos campus at Ongwediva.
The training was organised by the Namibia University of Science and Technology through the Namibia Energy Institute in partnership with the Agriculture Ministry and UNDP to implement a Japanese-funded project.
The project titled Strengthening and building resilience of Namibia's peri-urban communities to climate change through climate-smart agricultural production and early warning systems embodies a collective commitment to climate resilience and sustainable development.
The training facilitated by the Kafue George Regional Training Centre brought 37 participants together, and 21 percent of them were female.
They were equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary to prepare the Namibian youth for the emerging energy industry.
The project is a transformational journey towards a greener and more sustainable future for Namibia.
The goal is to equip trainers in technical and vocational education and training in the TVET sector with the skills and knowledge necessary to navigate the ever-evolving landscape of renewable energy.
