The United Democratic Front (UDF) is advocating for free pre-primary to tertiary education and a N$500 grant for each unemployed Namibian.

The party president, Hendrik Gaobaeb, says if elected to parliament, party leaders will further ensure that each person is allocated one plot.

The UDF held a rally at Usakos this weekend to appeal to the voters to give the party a chance in the November elections.

The president revealed that the party's campaign strategy is to advocate for social democracy.

"Education is the only tool to address poverty and inequality in Namibia; therefore, UDF is going for free education from pre-primary to PhD level; further, we are advocating for free water and electricity supply. We are advocating for one erf, one plot per person. It's so shameful that a person qualifying by his birth is landless in his own country. Where should people have land if they are not having it in their own country?"

The party says it is possible to provide free education and social grant programmes if taxes on natural resources are increased.

The UDF has been reviving its party structures in recent years, including the women and youth leagues. The target in the general elections is to win not less than 10 seats in parliament.

Secretary-General Daniel Tsaneb added that it's the first time a woman has been included in the Executive Committee of the party, and that shows progress.
