After a four-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Eastern Open Golf Championship returned to the picturesque setting of Gobabis.  The tournament attracted a strong field of 32 of Namibia's top golfers, a significant increase from the 21 participants of the previous year.

The event was met with enthusiasm from players and spectators alike, as it marked a welcome return to the golfing calendar.

Toady Guriras, President of the Namibia Golf Union, expressed his gratitude to the tournament sponsors and emphasized the positive trajectory of golf in the country.

He also extended a call for increased support from the corporate sector to sustain the growth of the sport.

Competition was fierce on the course, with Gabriel Shikodi securing second place.

However, it was Likius Nande who emerged victorious, claiming his second tournament win of the year.

The success of the Eastern Open Golf Championship bodes well for the future of Namibian golf, as players eagerly anticipate the upcoming All Africa Championships in October.
