Botswana's Vice President, Slumber Tsogwane, said sustainable and inclusive tourism speaks to the balanced growth of environmental protection, cultural heritage, and community involvement.

Officiating at the official opening of the 7th Africa Tourism Leadership Forum and Awards Summit in Gaborone, Botswana, Tsogwane said boosting intra-Africa travel will drive economic growth within Africa.

He therefore called on the forum to provide a wider range of learning and discussion platforms across intra-African tourism investment, travel technologies, and digital marketing.

Botswana's Vice President noted that tourism is a major contributor to the national economy, and has the potential to grow. Hence, the Botswana government aims to develop and position the country as a tourism destination of choice.

Tsogwane encouraged stakeholders and tourism industry captains throughout Africa to deliver the growth that Africa needs.

The summit, which ends on Friday, is attended by 43 African countries and more than 500 participants from Africa and around the globe.
