One of Namibia's nominees at the African Tourism Leadership Forum and Awards, Rosalia Haufiku, became the first runner-up in the Youth Innovation category.
Haufiku is one of the two Namibians nominated for awards by the African Leadership Forum and Awards Committee.
The excited Haufiku encouraged fellow youth and students to always take up challenges, as they might not know how such a challenge can change their lives.
Haufiku received the awards at the end of the African Tourism Leadership Forum and Awards Summit in Gaborone, Botswana.
Her fellow nominee in the Best Tour Operator category, Heinrich Hafeni of Hafeni Tours in Swakopmund, came in at number five in the African tourism industry.
Hafeni said that though he did not receive a prize, it was encouraging to be nominated and come 5th in Africa.
He emphasised that the nomination and invitation to attend the summit would be a great boost not only for the Hafeni Tours but also for the Namibian tourism industry.
