The Oshana region local organizing committee and the governor held a strategic meeting to finalize the logistics ahead of the upcoming third edition of the Namibia Youth Games in the region.
The Oshana region expects over 2,600 athletes and officials to compete in the third edition of the Namibia Youth Games.
Depending on individual sports codes, 13 sports codes will be contested in different towns of the Oshana region, such as Oshakati, Ongwediva, and Ondangwa, to accommodate 14 competing regions.
The meeting held this week was necessitated by the organizing committee to address all logistical aspects, including accommodations, security, and catering.
Speaking at his office in Oshakati, Oshana governor Elia Irimari highlighted the region's readiness.
Lastly, Irimali urged all sports lovers to come together in various towns next weekend to witness and support their local athletes in unity and peace.
The Namibia Youth Games is scheduled to take place from September 12th to 14th, 2024.
