The High Court dismissed the Namibia Correctional Service Football Club's case against the Namibia Football Association (NFA) regarding the team's promotion to the Namibia Premier Football League (NPFL), ruling that it was without merit.

The Namibia Correctional Service (NCS) was among the teams that won promotion to the NPFL after winning the Southern Stream Division. 

However, the NFA halted their promotion due to a conflict with Khomas Nampol, as regulations prevent teams under the same ministry or institution from competing in the same league.

NCS launched a legal challenge against the NFA's decision, which was dismissed today. 

The High Court judge, Justice Miller ruled that the case was struck off the roll and concluded. The court also awarded costs against the team.

When approached for comment, an NCS official told NBC Sport Desk off-camera after the ruling that they would first study the judgment and consult with their lawyer to determine if they would appeal.

Due to the NFA's decision, the Swakopmund-based Blue Boys have taken NCS's place in the league.

The outcome puts an end to the uncertainty about the country's top-flight league, which is yet to kick off its new season unless the team decides to appeal the verdict.
