The Electoral Court has dismissed Rally for Democracy and Progress' founding member Kandy Nehova's application to interdict Mike Kavekotora from electing and submitting a parliamentary list of the RDP to the ECN.

The respondents, represented by Advocate Marius Boonzaier, argued that the case falls outside the jurisdiction of the Electoral Court as it concerns internal party conflicts, which should be heard in the general high court.

Amanda Tsou, representing Nehova, countered that the court has inherent powers to adjudicate cases involving political party fraud or illegalities that can potentially prejudice and violate the rights of electorates.

However, the court ruled it lacked jurisdiction and dismissed the case without granting a cost order, as it found no malice in Nehova's application.
