The Popular Democratic Movement's president, McHenry Venaani, said if elected as the country's president, his administration will offer in-service training to young people to be able to get jobs faster.
Venaani made this promise at a rally at the John Ya Otto stadium in the capital on Sunday.
Venaani said that for too long, youth have been neglected, with some graduates still unemployed.
Hence, youth unemployment will be his main focal point if elected as president come November 27.
The PDM leader criticised and accused the government of failing to deliver, citing poor sports infrastructure, poverty, and a lack of housing.
"To start small and medium enterprises so that young people get a startup in their lifetime. It is said that by 2040 the number of young people aged 18-24 is expected to double. This demographic reality is not just a statistic. It is an opportunity, a clarion call for transformation. As a young demographic, we must band together to usher in an era of change, which is precisely what the PDM embodies."
Venaani also said improving service delivery will be at the top of his agenda.
