The Unique Empowerment and Employment Initiative Foundation has launched the TVET Innovation and Job Creators Programme to combat unemployment among young people.
The project aims to foster vocational graduates as job creators, thereby addressing unemployment.
The programme will provide entrepreneurial training to vocational graduates, empowering them to create employment and drive economic growth.
The initiative, which started in 2018, has reached both urban and rural communities across the country, focusing on empowering young people.
Over the next five years, the project aims to introduce a new curriculum for TVET programs to further boost employment. The foundation is urging the public, private, and individual sectors to collaborate in this effort.
Currently, the initiative is run both online and through in-person sessions, with twenty-five participants from the Khomas region.
The foundation is calling for more stakeholders to come on board to assist young people in securing and creating jobs.
