Prime Minister Saara Kuugongelwa Amadhila has commended the efforts of the Women's Action for Development (WAD), having successfully trained over 4,000 individuals.

Kuugongelwa-Amadhila addressed WAD's 30th anniversary, commemorating its work in women's empowerment.

Over the past three decades, WAD has been empowering women with skills in financial literacy, small business management, public speaking, emotional intelligence, and uplifting families.

Kuugongelwa-Amadhila applauded WAD for partnering with the government to combat poverty, improve healthcare services, and advocate for children's rights.

"WAD has, over the years, been a key partner in promoting social and economic development, particularly for women and marginalised communities. Through various initiatives, WAD has supported efforts to create opportunities for women, advocate for their rights, and foster a more just and equal society. Through these efforts, WAD has contributed to transforming the landscape of gender equality in Namibia, empowering countless women to achieve their full potential."

The Women's Action for Development has been at the forefront of advocating for women's rights, empowerment, and sustainable community development.

The Deputy Chairperson of WAD, Twapewa Kadhikwa, stated that the organisation empowers, provides skills, and creates a platform for women to develop self-awareness.

The organisation is on a mission to address gender inequality and the continued lack of economic opportunities.
