The Ministry of Agriculture, Water, and Land Reform is hosting a stakeholder workshop in Windhoek to raise awareness about the Water Resource Management Act of 2013.

Deputy Director in the ministry, Maria Amakali, speaking on behalf of Executive Director Ndiyakupi Nghituwamata, emphasised the importance of the Act in ensuring sustainable water use.

The workshop focused on key provisions of the Act, including water usage rights and penalties for non-compliance, following the publication of the regulations in August 2023.

Amakali stressed the need for collaboration among all stakeholders to safeguard Namibia's water resources amid growing demand and climate challenges.
