Various dignitaries from around the world who were attending the ceremonial inauguration of the 6th President of Botswana, Duma Boko, have praised the country for being an example of peace, security, and a mature democracy.
The ceremonial inauguration was attended by heads of state, including Zimbabwe, Namibia, Zambia, Prime Ministers and deputies, as well as opposition leaders.
In many African countries, the transfer of power is often marred by violence.
However, Botswana's seamless transfer of power between President Duma Boko of the UDC and the former President Mokgweetsi Masisi of the BDP has shown that it is possible to achieve a peaceful transition of power through dialogue and respect for the rule of law.
Some are highly optimistic about the administration of human rights lawyer Boko.
