Miss Earth Namibia 2024, Albertina Haimbala, has returned from Manila, Philippines, where she participated in the 24th edition of the Miss Earth competition on Saturday, finishing in the top 12.

She received a warm welcome at Hosea Kutako International Airport today.

The 24-year-old Namibian beauty queen competed against 80 contestants from around the globe.

Expressing her gratitude for the opportunity to take part in the beauty pageant, Haimbala said, "The experience was amazing. I am thrilled to have secured a top-12 position for Namibia, which is a first for our country. It was a great experience, and I grew as a person. I don't think I was the problem; the organization probably wanted someone different. However, I don't believe I would change anything about my approach. I was very confident and well-prepared."

As an advocate for environmental awareness, Haimbala engaged in a series of pre-pageant activities aimed at promoting the core message of environmental sustainability. These activities included participating in environmental seminars, eco-tours, community service projects, and various competitions centered around eco-fashion, talent, and advocacy.

"During my time at Miss Earth, I realized that preparation is key. You need to be ready on all levels—not just with your outfits, but also for public speaking; your hair, makeup, and overall presentation really matter. It takes a lot of effort, but it makes a significant difference and can help you achieve your goals."

Haimbala also offered words of encouragement to aspiring competitors: "Don't wait for anyone to hold you back from your dreams; act now, as the time is right. Start preparing today."

The Miss Earth pageant is renowned for its emphasis on environmental responsibility and awareness.
