The Electoral Commission of Namibia (ECN) is inviting the public to avail vehicles for use in elections.
Omusati ECN's Electoral Officer, Elizabeth Shiningayamwe, says the vehicles should be double or single pickups and not older than ten years.
Among others, vehicles should be roadworthy, with no stickers, slogans, political party messages, or religious or business institution logos.
All the cars will be subjected to mandatory inspection and roadworthiness, and owners must present proof of vehicle insurance, but in the absence of that, an indemnity form will be required.
Interested vehicle owners are requested to avail their vehicles for inspection from tomorrow to Wednesday, the 20th.
The Omusati Region received its election consignment for duplicates of the voters' cards and election materials at Outapi police yesterday (Sun), whose issuance started today (Mon).
Duplicates will be issued until the 26th, from Monday to Friday.
"We just want to emphasise that we are not going to issue any voter cards but just those who have lost their cards, because some are saying we are going to register; we are not going to register but only to issue duplicates to those who have lost their voter cards."
The sensitive materials will be dispatched to various constituencies on the 25th and 26th.
