Police in ||Kharas Region rewarded more than 100 police officers with promotions in recognition of their exceptional service.
The promotions also aim to enhance service delivery and boost the morale of officers.
The police officers were promoted to the ranks of senior inspector, inspector, warrant officer, and sergeant at the special parade held in Keetmanshoop.
||Kharas Police Regional Commander, Commissioner Marius Katamila, officiated at the promotion parade.
"There are several of you who are in command positions—station commanders, unit commanders, and shift commanders—who will be conferred with a promotion today. That is in recognition of the service that you have rendered. The main promotion committee is still deliberating a few outstanding promotions, so at this point in time, it is difficult for me to divulge the exact amount, but what we are going to confer today will be 128 promotions."
Commissioner Katamila also handed over brand new vehicles to the Aroab Police Station as well as the Keetmanshoop Police Traffic Unit.
"It is a 4x4; it can make you reach places that you cannot always reach, so please take care and serve the people in the area of Aroab. Brand new car for your traffic unit, Keetmanshoop. Here are the keys. For logistical purposes, don't forget to meet Chief Andreas so that she can sort you out with your logbooks and everything. Utilize the vehicle to the best of your ability and serve the community where it is needed."
