Healthy competition is one of the key pillars emphasized by the Namibian Competition Commission to manage rivalries between businesses over market share and promote trust among customers.
This was highlighted by the Chief Executive Officer of the Namibian Competition Commission, Vitalis Ndalikokule, during the commemoration of World Competition Day in the capital.
The Namibian Competition Commission is empowered to promote competition and create a level playing field in business through competition policies, laws, and regulations.
Ndalikokule noted that competition policies include laws regulating, among other things, mergers and acquisitions, as well as addressing anti-competitive behavior such as collusion on price and product quality.
The commission's senior official for Corporate Strategies, Advocacy, and Stakeholder Engagement, Jowetha Katjaita, emphasized that the body addresses price fixing as prohibited conduct in Namibia.
