The Windhoek Central Hospital Forensic Unit received a donation of cosmetics, clothes, Christmas hampers, gardening tools, and sweet treats from the Namibian Automated Clearing House, Namclear.
The donations are meant to provide warmth, care, and comfort, whereas the gardening tools donated symbolize a therapeutic activity that encourages hands-on healing to provide opportunities for patients to engage in activities that nurture their well-being.
Additionally, Namclear employees also donated some new and barely used clothes to the patients.
Namclear, as a socially responsible corporate citizen, has established its Corporate Social Responsibility programme in 2022 to contribute towards sustainable community development by supporting projects for the marginalized section of society and creating a positive difference in their lives.
Speaking on behalf of Namclear's Managing Director, the Corporate Social Responsibility Chairperson, Hybre' Clarke, addressed the fundamental aspect of the donations in giving back to the community.
''As Namclear, we strongly believe that mental well-being is just as important as physical health, and we deeply admire the dedication, commitment, and hard work that the team here puts in."
The Head of Mental Health Centre and Forensic Unit, Hileni Ndjamba, spoke about the dangers of alcohol abuse.
The Mental Health Centre and Forensic Unit occupational therapist, Katrin Gossow, shared her experiences and commended Namclear for the donation.
