Education, Arts, and Culture Minister Anna Nghipondoka on Tuesday welcomed learners, teachers, parents, and stakeholders to the 2025 academic year, emphasising collaboration and commitment to achieving educational excellence.
Nghipondoka, in her message for the new academic year, commended educators for their dedication in 2024, noting their role in building a strong foundation for continued progress. “Your unwavering resilience and commitment to ensuring that the Namibian child receives the quality education they deserve are truly commendable,” she said.
Nghipondoka encouraged the learners to approach the new year with optimism and hope, saying it presents an opportunity for growth and the pursuit of dreams. "Dream big, because you are the future of Namibia, and the development of our beautiful nation lies in your hands,” she stated.
The Minister further reminded the parents of their critical role in education to actively be involved, support their children's learning journey, and encourage them to strive for greatness.
“Collaboration between families and schools is key to unlocking learners’ full potential,” she said.
She went on to call on school principals and education directorates to foster inclusivity and innovation while ensuring effective oversight and support for schools, saying their leadership and strategic guidance are crucial to ensuring that no child is left behind.
The minister concluded with a call to all stakeholders, including government, civil society, and private sector partners, to work together in addressing challenges and implementing sustainable solutions, stressing that: "Together, we can build a brighter future for every Namibian child.”
