The Ratepayers Association, formerly known as the Katutura Residents Committee, has updated the community on the ongoing legal battle with the City of Windhoek.
The next court appearance slated for the 6th of February in the High Court has to do with the abolishment of the contract with Red Force Debt Management, the defective billing system, and the laying of criminal charges against city officials.
The Ratepayers Association at a media conference, said it continues to battle with the City of Windhoek on the rates paid for municipal services by city residents.
The spokesperson of the association, Shaun Gariseb, highlighted that the group has full support from Okahandja and Gobabis residents, as they have the same issues with their respective municipalities.
In addition, the Ratepayers Association plans on having a demonstration on the 27th of January to demand the release of an Anti-Corruption Commission report on municipal irregularities.
