The Deputy Minister of Education, Arts, and Culture, Faustina Caley, has called upon those who are in the education sector in the Omaheke Region to build a strong foundation to ensure quality education is achieved.
Caley made this call during her visit to the Omaheke Region and stressed that while the government is trying its best to address challenges faced by the sector, it is also essential for local stakeholders to make concerted efforts to provide a robust support system aimed at strengthening teaching and learning processes.
The Deputy Minister added that the region did well in academic results for the year 2024, moving from 14th position to number eight at the national level, and this should be a motivating factor for the region.
"Let us pool our resources, share best practices, and work together to provide superior education—the best education ever. Together we can build a strong system that will exceed the expectation. Let us embrace the 2025 academic year with a renewed commitment towards excellence."
On his part, Regional Governor Pijoo Nganate stated that challenges in the education sector should be regarded as opportunities and allow schools to work together to find lasting solutions that will lead to improving academic performance every year.
The Chairperson of the Omaheke Regional Council, Ignatius Kariseb, said that various strategies are needed to improve the results; therefore, everyone has a role play in the region to improve education results.
