NamWater recorded positive inflows into key dams across the country for the first week of March.

Recent rainfall contributed to improved water levels across the Swakoppoort, Von Bach, Omatako, and Omatjenne dams, offering a welcome boost to Namibia's water storage capacity.

The Swakoppoort dam experienced an inflow of 0.870 million cubic meters, increasing its level to 34.9% of full capacity, a noticeable improvement from last week's 33.5%.

The Von Bach Dam experienced an inflow of 0.686 million cubic meters, which raised the dam level to 28.7%.

That represents a positive change from 27.35, recorded last week.

Omatako Dam saw an inflow of 1.631 million cubic meters, raising its level to 28.5% of full capacity, up from 24.8% last week.

Omatjenne Dam is still at a low level, having risen to 4.4% of full capacity, following an inflow of 0.081 million cubic meters, an improvement from last week's 2.8%.

These positive changes provide hope for continued improvements in water supply as the country enters the next phase of its wet season.

NamWater states that it continues to closely monitor these key water resources to secure a steady supply of water for communities.

The water utility encourages the public to remain conscious of its water usage and to help authorities maintain sustainable water levels throughout the year.
