The Kunene Region has been severely affected by the massive inflow of water following heavy rains over the past few weeks, with residents in both urban and rural areas seriously affected.

This morning, some of the region's leaders undertook a trip to assess the situation at villages along the Kunene River, where some crop fields were partially submerged and others were completely underwater.

The main roads were also damaged, with some areas being submerged for several kilometres, making it impossible for vehicles to pass through.

A few properties on the riverbanks, including lodges, are also underwater.

Kunene Governor Vipuakuje Muharukua announced that tomorrow, a helicopter will drop off food items to those affected, ensuring they have something to eat. He assured the region's residents that they have been on the ground assessing the situation and making impactful decisions aimed at providing swift assistance to those in need.
