The Affirmative Repositioning (AR) Movement has expressed shock and outrage following the brutal killing of six family members in Usakos over the weekend.
The victims, including four minors, a 17-year-old youth, and an elderly woman, were allegedly murdered and their bodies set alight early Saturday morning.
In a statement issued, AR mourns the tragic loss and extended condolences to the bereaved family and the wider Usakos community.
The movement described the incident as a “barbaric and inhumane” act, allegedly committed by a 17-year-old suspect who is now in police custody.
“This is not just a criminal matter—it is a societal crisis,” the statement read. “It compels us to ask what is happening to our communities, our youth, and to the moral fabric of our nation.”
AR linked the tragedy to deeper systemic issues, including a breakdown of social support structures, inadequate mental health services, and the lack of strong youth mentorship and rehabilitation programs.
The movement called for urgent investments in mental health care and community protection networks.
It also urged reforms in the justice system to ensure a tougher stance on violent crimes while addressing root causes such as poverty, trauma, and social neglect.
“National healing requires honest conversations and bold reforms,” AR stated. “We must build a society where life is valued and protected, and where young people are empowered with hope, direction, and dignity.”
