A 50-year-old Namibian woman has been arrested for attempted murder in Otjiwarongo after seriously injuring a man by stabbing him last night.

The incident occurred around 22:30 at a house believed to be the suspect's residence.

According to Maureen Mbeha, the Head of Community Affairs for NamPol’s Otjozondjupa region, a 32-year-old Namibian man visited the home of his ex-girlfriend, the suspect, where an argument escalated into violence.

It is alleged that the woman stabbed the victim with a sharp metal object, striking him under his left arm and causing a serious open wound to his chest.

The victim was rushed to Otjiwarongo State Hospital and later transported to Windhoek for further treatment.

His condition remains critical.

The suspect is expected to appear in the Otjiwarongo Magistrate’s Court on Monday, and police investigations are ongoing.
