The Namibian Police have reported a string of weekend crimes, including drug busts, attempted murders, and the suspected murder of a teenager.
Police arrested multiple suspects and confiscated illegal drugs valued at over N$34,000 in operations across the country.
The largest haul took place at the B3 truck port between Ariamsvlei and Karasburg on Saturday, where two separate incidents led to the arrest of three men.
Officers seized cannabis and mandrax tablets, ranging from full to half- and quarter-cut pieces.
At Narraville in Walvis Bay, a man and a woman were arrested early on Friday with 100 mandrax tablets and a gram of cannabis, altogether said to be worth N$12,050.
Later that day in Keetmanshoop, two suspects were caught with 80 mandrax tablets hidden in a Weet-Bix box, valued at N$9,600.
Also in Narraville, police arrested a 50-year-old man with 184 grams of cannabis, worth N$9,200, while arresting a 29-year-old woman with smaller quantities.
In Tseiblaagte, Keetmanshoop, a 32-year-old man was found with mandrax, 105 grams of cannabis, and N$1,019 in cash.
All suspects remain in custody, and investigations continue.
Meanwhile, police are probing three attempted murder cases.
In the first, an 18-month-old baby girl was injured after reportedly being thrown from a moving vehicle, 25km outside of Outjo.
Her parents are said to have been intoxicated and fighting in the car when the incident occurred.
Both have been arrested.
In another incident at Outjo's Tangeni Bar, a 27-year-old man was stabbed after intervening in a dispute.
He is hospitalised in stable condition, and the suspects are still being sought.
In Outapi, a 21-year-old security guard was arrested after he reportedly accidentally shot two construction workers while unloading a shotgun.
The victims are recovering in the hospital.
NamPol confirmed the death of 16-year-old Antonio Angelo Kamseb, whose body was found Saturday morning in Karibib.
He had multiple stab wounds and bruising indicative of assault. No arrests have been made in his killing.
Kamseb was a Grade 10 learner at Karibib Junior Secondary School.
