sinomine apology

Sinomine Resources Group has issued an apology for what it described as a miscommunication that led to Labour Relations Minister Wise Immanuel and his delegation being denied entry to its Tsumeb smelter.

In a statement, Sinomine Tsumeb Smelter clarified that the entry denial was linked to its long-standing alcohol testing policy, which has been in effect since 2013. The policy enforces safety and compliance for all visitors and personnel within the high-risk industrial site.

The company, acquired by Sinomine Resources Group in August 2024, expressed regret over the incident and reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining a strong relationship with the Namibian government and supporting the country’s development goals.
