The supplementary voter registration, which began on August 4, has seen a total of 2,195 voters registered in the Oshikoto Region. Ester Hipangelwa said the region deployed 60 teams accompanied by 120 police officers to 11 constituencies within its three local authority areas: Oniipa, Omuthiyagwiipundi, Tsumeb, and parts of Olukonda.

Hipangelwa said the deployment of the teams went smoothly, and no hiccups have been experienced thus far. Of the 11 constituencies, Tsumeb is leading with a total of 304 voters registered, followed by Omuthiya with 284 and Okankolo with 255.

The regional electoral officer noted that constituencies in the remote rural areas of the region, such as Nehale, Okankolo, and Eengodi, are registering the majority of those who have recently turned 18. The supplementary registration will end on August 19.
