The annual Namibian Defence Force (NDF) games have become a crucial platform for showcasing the talent, determination, and discipline of military personnel, according to Air Marshal Martin Kambulu Pinehas, Chief of the Defence Force.

He made the remarks at the 10th edition of the games, currently underway in Gobabis, Omaheke Region.

Air Marshal Pinehas emphasized that sport teaches resilience, sharpens determination, and strengthens the teamwork essential for mission success. He also noted that the event helps strengthen civil-military cooperation, which is key to fostering trust and unity in the country.

Omaheke Regional Governor Pijoo Nganate echoed these sentiments, stating that sport is a unifying activity that promotes mental endurance and solidarity among people.

Gobabis Mayor Melba Tjozongoro highlighted the economic benefits of the games for the town. She encouraged local businesses to take advantage of the opportunity, as the event is expected to boost the local economy.

The annual NDF Sport Games began on September 8 and will conclude on September 14, 2025.
