The Namibian Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) will start airing free equal airtime messages for political parties contesting the Outapi Constituency by-election.

Two political parties, the Independent Patriots for Change (IPC) and the Swapo Party, will field candidates in the by-election, scheduled for Monday, 29 September.

Free-airtime messages will be broadcast on radio and television and will also feature on the corporation's digital platforms, starting from next Monday.

The by-election will take place as a result of a vacancy on the Omusati Regional Council for the Outapi Constituency, which occurred on 1 July 2025, when Immanuel Shishiweni Shikongo had to resign following his appointment as the Governor of the Omusati Region.

The IPC fielded Fillemon Shikwambi, while the Swapo Party nominated Selma Nelao Asino to stand in the by-election.
