Minister of Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety, and Security, Lucia Iipumbu, says steps are already underway to address public complaints about office closures during lunch hours at the ministry's Windhoek branch.
This follows a question in the National Assembly by NUDO MP Vetaruhe Kandorozu, who said he had received concerns from members of the public about being asked to leave the building between 13h00 and 14h00 while staff went on lunch. He suggested the ministry introduce a shift system to keep services running without interruption.
In response, Minister Iipumbu explained that she had raised the issue shortly after taking office in March and has instructed the Executive Director to develop a staff schedule that allows for continuous service during lunchtime.
