The leader of a faction of the Ovaherero Traditional Authority, Hoze Riruako, said that the Ozombuzovindimba Heritage Site remains a symbolic historical area for many Ovaherero people.

Dr. Riruako made this remark during the annual commemoration of Ozombuzovindimba Day in the Otjinene Constituency.

He recounted the 1904 war atrocities and senseless killing of unarmed people by the Germans under the command of General Lothar von Trotter.

Dr. Riruako also implored fellow traditional leaders to promote peace and unity and foster economic development for their people.
