President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah assured residents of Kuvukiland, an informal settlement in Tsumeb, that they will be getting water soon, while the provision of electricity will come at a later stage.

Kuvukiland is divided into A, B and C, with A already supplying water and electricity.

The groundwork for B and C to have water will commence this week, said the President in her speech.

Dr. Nandi-Ndaitwah also promised to construct a kindergarten for the children of Kuvukiland once the municipality acquires land.

For the upcoming Regional Councils and Local Authorities Elections, she urged the residents to vote for people who are going to help her fulfil the promises she made while campaigning.

"I am already meeting some resistance in municipalities where we don't have the majority as a party. People are not giving land for the government to service the land because they think by doing so they are trying to make people hate Swapo."

Voting for the Swapo Party, President Nandi-Ndaitwah said, will make her job easier.

The President was joined by the Swapo Party Leader assigned to the Oshikoto Region, Hilma Nicanor.
