The Joint Permanent Commission on Defence and Security between Namibia and Zambia signed several bilateral agreements aimed at enhancing defence and security between the two countries.
Defence and Veterans Affairs Minister Frans Kapofi and his Zambian counterpart signed on behalf of their respective countries.
The joint permanent commission brought together several heads of defence and security, along with their support staff.
The event deliberated on many issues, some of them restricted to the media, but all aimed at strengthening defence and security for the two sister countries.
This led to the climax as the two ministers signed several bilateral agreements.
"Your hard work and dedication are why we can complete the work of our joint commission in record time. As I said at the beginning, Namibia will remain forever indebted to the Republic of Zambia for what Zambia has done for us and will always consider Zambia as our forever reliable partner and sisterly republic," said Minister Kapofi.
Zambia's Defence Minister Ambrose Lifuma said the agreements signed will solidify the coexistence of the two countries. "It is gratifying to note that this commission has come up with practical resolutions that will help us solidify our historic friendship, especially in the field of defence and security."
